SAFETY INFORMATION
This list of safety warnings is based on the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on General Product Safety (GPSR). The aim is to protect users from potential hazards resulting from inappropriate use. The warnings are presented in a simple and understandable way to ensure they are accessible to a wide audience, including the elderly and those with limited mobility.
1. General Safety Precautions
Always read the instructions for use carefully before first use and follow the manufacturer s recommendations. Ensure that the breast pump is intended for individual use – sharing devices may lead to a risk of infection. Before each use, thoroughly wash all parts that come into contact with milk to prevent bacterial growth.
2. Mechanical Hazards
Regularly check the condition of the device, including the tubes, seals, and caps – damaged parts may cause injury or malfunction. Do not use a breast pump with visible cracks or other damage. Avoid using excessive force during assembly or use to prevent breakage or cuts.
3. Electrical Hazards
For electric breast pumps, always use the original power supply and cord. Do not use the device in a damp environment, such as near water, to prevent the risk of electric shock. Unplug the device from the power supply after use and before performing maintenance.
4. Thermal Hazards
Do not heat the breast pump components in a microwave oven – this can deform the materials and risk burns. Before use, check the temperature of parts that come into contact with skin, especially after sterilization.
5. Precautions for use in specific conditions
Do not use the breast pump in extreme conditions, such as high temperatures or humidity, which may affect the performance of the device. When transporting, ensure that all components are properly secured to prevent damage.
6. Maintenance and Hygiene
Regularly wash all parts of the device in warm water with a mild detergent, or sterilize them according to the manufacturer s instructions. After each use, discard any milk remaining in the tubes or container to prevent contamination. Store the device in a dry, clean place to avoid the accumulation of dust and debris.
7. User Warnings
Elderly individuals or those with limited mobility should use the device under supervision or with assistance if necessary. If you experience discomfort, pain, or other irregularities during use, discontinue use immediately and consult your doctor or lactation consultant.
Importance of Following Warnings
Following the above warnings minimizes the risk of personal injury, device failure, and property damage. Ignoring the recommendations can lead to serious health and property hazards. Ensure your safety and that of your loved ones by following the indicated precautions. All detailed warnings or product safety information are available in the user manual included with the product or available in PDF format, on the product data sheet, or on the manufacturer s/supplier s website.
